Project Overview
Advanedu is a comprehensive online education platform designed to connect instructors and students from around the world through an interactive and accessible learning environment.
The platform allows instructors to create, publish, and sell courses across different subjects, professions, and languages without restrictions on course content. Students can explore a wide range of courses, preview sample lectures, choose instructors based on their preferences, and learn at their own pace.
Beyond course delivery, Advanedu provides an interactive learning experience with features such as student-instructor communication, lecture discussions, course reviews, progress tracking, and downloadable learning resources.
The platform also includes a comprehensive administrative system for managing courses, users, orders, payments, promotions, and website content.
Client Requirement
The client envisioned a global e-learning marketplace where instructors could independently publish and monetize their knowledge while students could discover and access high-quality educational content from anywhere in the world.
The primary requirements included:

The goal was to create a complete learning ecosystem that supports the entire journey, from course creation and discovery to enrollment, learning, and instructor payouts.
The Challenge
Developing Advanedu involved handling several technical and functional challenges associated with building a feature-rich online learning marketplace.
Advanced Course Search and Suggestions
The platform needed to provide relevant course suggestions based on search keywords, helping students discover suitable courses efficiently across a large and diverse course catalog.
Video Uploading and Compression
Managing educational videos presented challenges related to upload duration, file size, and video compression. The system needed to support large video files while maintaining a smooth content management experience for instructors.
Flexible Curriculum Management
Courses could contain different types of learning materials, including articles, videos with subtitles, and downloadable resources. Managing these different content types within a structured curriculum required a flexible course management approach.
Resource Library Management
The platform needed a resource library to organize and distribute downloadable course materials, making learning resources easily accessible to enrolled students.
Lecture-Level Comment Management
Unlike traditional course review systems, Advanedu required discussion capabilities at the individual lecture level. Managing comments and conversations across multiple lectures introduced additional complexity.

To address these requirements, I worked on developing a structured, feature-rich education platform with dedicated workflows for students, instructors, and administrators.

Developed course management functionality that enables instructors to create courses, organize curriculum content, upload educational materials, configure course landing pages, and manage announcements.

Supported student engagement through lecture-level discussions, course Q&A, ratings, reviews, and progress tracking.
Integrated Purchasing Workflow
Implemented a custom shopping cart and checkout experience alongside payment gateway integration to facilitate course purchases.
